Cascade Bluff,
LLC is made up of three families with a combined total of
over 50 years in the real estate industry.
Steve and Kate Surbaugh
Steve and Kate first came to Cook County guiding canoe trips
for their college in southern Minnesota. After graduation
they worked at Sawbill Outfitters in Tofte and guided dogsledding
trips in Ely, MN. After a stint in the Twin Cities working
for dot-coms, they returned north with a son in tow. Now,
they’re happily settled in an old farmhouse under the
shadow of Cascade Bluff, and this time they’re sure
to stay. With the help of their mentors (see below) they have
become a crack real estate team with a combined sales total
of over 4 million in 2003. Despite being in the community
on a few years, they are on the boards of several local non-profits
and devote 5% of their pre-tax earnings to local foundations.
Judy and Spencer Motschenbacher
Judy and Spencer have lived in Lutsen since 1972 and Judy
has been a real estate agent with Superior Properties, Inc.
since 1986. Spencer is a licensed contractor who owns Caribou
Trail Cabin Services, maintenance and building repair business
since 1980. Both Judy and Spencer are deeply involved in the
Lutsen community and it’s this commitment to community
that spurred our decision to use local craftsmen on the project
whenever possible.
William Surbaugh
Steve’s father is the owner of Surbaugh and Son, Real
Estate and Insurance for 32 years, Bill specializes in development
projects in his hometown of Anderson, Indiana, and we are
very lucky to have his level of expertise on this project.
Bill is also very involved in his local community, within
the school system, the public library, and community foundations. |
